Our air filters have 20% more pleats than some other leading filters. Pleated filters provide a better way to capture small and large particles from the air you breathe. The more pleats in a filter, the more surface area there is to filter out all the allergens, bacteria, and other pollutants that may try to invade your home. Using a higher quality filter can provide you with cleaner air.

WHAT EXACTLY IS A MERV RATING
MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) is the primary rating system used in the industry, both domestically and internationally. Established by ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers), MERV rates a filter’s ability to capture and hold particles and pollutants. The higher the rating the more particles the filter removes from the air before it recycles through your HVAC’s blower leaving your home a healthier place to live.
HOW EFFECTIVE IS YOUR AIR FILTER?
|MERV 8-10||MERV 11-13||MERV 14-20|
|Most residential home air systems can adequately remove airborne contaminants with a filter rated between MERV 8-10.||Most residential home air systems can adequately remove airborne contaminants and odors with a filter rated between MERV 11-13.
Filters over a MERV 11 can actually provide added stress from being too restrictive and can starve and harm your home’s HVAC system.
|MERV 14-20 are typically found in hospital and general surgery settings. The higher the MERV rating on a filter, the fewer dust particles and other contaminants can pass through it.|
